Qatari students in Chicago

Earlier in the summer - a group of North Central SLI students from Qatar visited Chicago for the day. We had Chicago style deep dish Pizza from Giordanos.
Took lots of pictures at the Buckingham fountain - we even watched the fountain shoot 150 feet into the air! We walked through Millenium Park and saw lots of wedding groups. Then we ended our day at Navy Pier.

International Snacks

For the last day of Practical Writing II I asked the students to bring in a snack from their country to share with everyone. We had a great response and all got to try something new.
Drinks: An unknown Polish Berry Drink, Coke & Pepsi (of course they're international), and some Tamarindo from Mexico.

My American cupcakes!Plantains from Honduras & Jalapeno chips from Central America.
Sweets from around the world!
Some Russian fish and crackers.
Getting some food - and goofing around!

Sampling some Polish appetizer:
Cabbage, and meat all rolled up and in a special suace
Fish were headless
Not quite ready yet. . .
Now we're ready. Good job writing class!!
